If you are planning to move soon then the first thing you should do is to change your mailing address. Most often than not, this is one of those things that most people forgot when they are moving to a different location. Going through the process of changing your physical address is now easy by just following these simple steps.

Once you have the exact date of when you are moving, then this is the perfect time to change your mailing address. There are three ways where you can change your mailing address. You can go to the USPS website and with one dollar payment you can Change Your Address from there. You can also call the USPS toll free number (1-800-275-877), or by mailing the form to their office.

Fill out the change of address form. You can get this form from the post office or you can print it from the USPS website.

If you and all the members of your household is moving to the same address and shares the same last name then a single request can be completed. An individual request on the other hand should be submitted for someone who has a different last name. This request should be completed by each person who has a different last name, or moving to a different location.

One you placed your request, allow 7 to 10 business days for the receipt of your request. This receipt will show your old and new address. Make sure to review it and once you have any corrections make sure to contact the USPS at 1-800-275-8777.

After 10 business days and you still don’t have your confirmation letter, you can check the status of your request in the USPS website or call their toll free number.
